Latest bridal work - I had a blast with the ever-so-charming Marylena.

The look: au naturel & soft. Eyes and lashes were emphasized with layer upon layer of individual falsies, lips and cheeks a slight apricot mixed in with rose petal pink. The final look was dusted off with some pearly-iridescent loose powder for that je ne sais quoi bridal glow.

Summer Lip Faves 2012

1) Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in shade Sugar Frosting

Available at most drugstores and beauty counters. Goes for approx $9.00.

Claim to fame:

- “Buttery balm with beautiful shiny colour to give you baby soft, healthy glowing lips
- Hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula boosts lip moisture by 156%
- Sheer to medium colour with buttery shine
- Available in 20 luscious shades.

My thoughts: Perfect for those of you who (like me) love a pearly-pinky-nude lip. Sheer and subtle enough to wear every day, and makes your lips feel super plump and silky.
Tip: layer it on 2-3 times and you’ve got a frostier look, perfect for pairing with a more intense evening makeup look (i.e. black lined eyes with several coats of mascara).

2) Rimmel: Kate Moss Lasting Finish Lipstick in shade no. 12.

Available at most drugstores and beauty counters. Goes for approx $8.00.

Claim to fame:

Kate Moss has created her first ever lipstick collection for Rimmel London. With a breakthrough formula featuring the exclusive black diamond pigment complex, the lipstick reflects like never before creating gorgeous tones that make you look, and then look again. Kate’s collection captures the flair, edge and timelessness of her unique look. With 7 shades get ready to fall in love with your favourite!

My thoughts on no.12: Tangarine/Orange-Red lips are really hot this summer, and this shade is the perfect combination of both. The texture is really creamy and doesn’t dry out my lips like most long-lasting lipsticks tend to do. It adds a nice little pop of color without looking freakish. Doesn’t need to be dressed up, so I suggest pairing it with a clean cat-eye liner, or even just a couple of coats of mascara.

Bridal Work: La Belle Sarah!

Shots from my most recent bridal makeup work: the lovely, elegant, and always charming - Mizz Sarah.

The goal for Sarah’s look: Mix of ultra feminine, subtle and sexy.

The makeup: Pearly inner corner of the eye, lightly smoked out with a soft brown at the outer corners and topped with a winged-out liner. Layers upon layers of individual false lashes. Cheeks are contoured and bronzed, and blush is a pearly pink. Cheekbones and brow bones are highlighted with more pearl, and lips are a sexy muted rose.

Bridesmaids: Eyes are wrapped in a mix of gold and bronze eye shadows, with a touch of black winged-out liner at the outer corners. The face is fresh and dewy, with fuschia-coral cheeks, and the lips are a beautiful peachy-pink.
